From the idea to operation.
Technical expertise throughout the plant project.
Consulting and system optimisation
We provide technical consulting for new systems as well as the revamping and optimisation of existing installations, including equipment supplied by other manufacturers. Our experts assess water quality, process requirements, system performance and operating data to identify the most suitable technical solution. Optimisation measures can reduce water and energy consumption, wastewater generation, salt demand and chemical use. We also help customers improve capacity, reliability, water quality and compliance while making effective use of existing equipment.
Discuss with USF ↗Planning and engineering
Successful projects begin with a clear understanding of the required water or media quality, capacity and operating conditions. Our engineering services include process design, equipment selection, hydraulic calculations, layouts, P&IDs, 3D modelling and detailed technical specifications. We consider hygiene, accessibility, maintainability, energy efficiency and future expansion from the beginning of the design process. Close coordination between all engineering disciplines ensures a practical and reliable system concept.
Discuss with USF ↗Piping technologies
We design, manufacture and install piping systems for industrial water and clean media applications. Depending on the process requirements, systems can be constructed from stainless steel or suitable plastics such as PVC, PP, PE and PVDF. Our capabilities include hygienic piping design, orbital welding, support structures, prefabrication and on-site installation. Appropriate materials, joining methods and surface qualities are selected according to the media, operating conditions and applicable standards.
Discuss with USF ↗Electrical planning and construction
Our electrical engineering services cover the complete electrical infrastructure required for reliable system operation. We prepare electrical schematics, select components and design and manufacture control cabinets according to project-specific and regulatory requirements. Electrical hardware is coordinated with the process equipment, instrumentation and automation concept. Testing before delivery supports safe, efficient installation and commissioning on site.
Discuss with USF ↗Control and automation
Modern automation provides reliable operation, consistent water quality and transparent process monitoring. We develop PLC and HMI solutions, alarm management, operating sequences, data recording and interfaces to higher-level control systems. Our services also include software modifications, control-system upgrades and the modernisation of existing installations from different manufacturers. Automation can be adapted to support remote monitoring, preventive maintenance and energy- and water-efficient operation.
Discuss with USF ↗Installation and commissioning
We coordinate and carry out the mechanical and electrical installation of water treatment plants, clean utility systems and distribution networks. Before start-up, all relevant equipment, instruments, safety functions and control sequences are systematically checked. During commissioning, the system is adjusted and optimised to achieve the specified capacity, quality and operating conditions. Our experienced engineers and technicians work closely with the customer's project, production and quality teams.
Discuss with USF ↗Quality assurance and qualification
Quality assurance is integrated throughout the project—from design and component selection to manufacturing, testing and final handover. For regulated applications, we provide qualification services including Design Qualification, Installation Qualification and Operational Qualification, with Performance Qualification support available where required. Factory and site acceptance testing can be performed according to agreed protocols and customer specifications. Our structured procedures provide traceability and documented evidence that the system meets its defined requirements.
Discuss with USF ↗Training and documentation
Clear documentation and well-trained operators are essential for safe and reliable system operation. We provide technical and quality documentation such as operating manuals, P&IDs, electrical drawings, certificates, calibration records, spare-parts lists and qualification documents. Practical training can cover system operation, routine inspections, sanitisation, maintenance and troubleshooting. Training and documentation are tailored to the equipment, user responsibilities and applicable regulatory environment.
Discuss with USF ↗Maintenance and service
Regular maintenance helps preserve water quality, system availability and equipment lifetime. We offer preventive maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, repairs, cleaning, spare parts and emergency technical support. Our manufacturer-independent service capabilities allow us to support both USF systems and equipment supplied by other manufacturers. Service activities are documented transparently, with clear findings and recommendations for any necessary corrective measures.
Discuss with USF ↗Lifecycle support
Our involvement continues throughout the entire operating life of the system. We support customers with performance reviews, component replacements, software and automation upgrades, capacity expansions and adaptation to changing production or regulatory requirements. Lifecycle planning also helps manage ageing equipment and component obsolescence before they create operational risks. Through continuous optimisation and responsive technical support, we help customers protect their investment and maintain reliable, efficient operation over the long term.
